Q: Does a 1969 Camaro with the RS package necessarily mean it is an SS?
I found a 1969 camaro that definitely has the RS package, but i am not sure if it is an ss or not. Does having an RS package mean the car is always also an SS?
A: Any Camaro could be ordered with the RS package, V6’s, Z/28’s, and SS’s.
One way to tell what kind of car it is is to check the emblems. A V6 would have “rs” while a Z/28 and an SS would have their respective emblems on the car.
Unfortunately, anybody could put any emblem on the car and you wouldn’t know unless you looked at the engine, which no longer applies today as people have changed a lot of the engines (unless its numbers match, which would mean a 302 would be a Z/28 while a 350 or 396 would be an SS)..
The only real way to know today is to either look at the window sticker (which is more often than not missing) or to check the VIN, as it will usually tell you what kind of engine you have.
Great choice on the car though. I love the ‘69 Camaro.
Q: Will the 69 camaro RS headlight door hinges fit a non rs 1969 camaro?
ive seen rs camaros have these but im not sure if they will fit on a regular 1969 camaro
A: Yes they will fit. You have to transfer the entire grill assembly, and the servo that operate the doors. You have to have the headlight switch that operates the servos, and the headlights. I don’t know if there are reproduction pieces for this or not, but finding the original parts are like finding chicken lips.
If you do find them, hold on to your wallet, cause the price is going to be high.
Q: i have a property acquired in 1969 at rs 10000 by my great grand father.?
according to goverment it is worth 35 lacs.but our evaluation is 27 lacs.my age is 72 years.what would be the income tax i am payable.
A: The answers given by Mr.nnchelia.. and by Mr.Jss are good.
If you sell the property, then you have to pay Long Term capital gains.
HOW MUCH TAX TO PAY:
For the purpose of tax, you have to find out the property value as on 1.1.1981. You can take your property value as Rs.25,000 as on 1.1.81. (which was rs.10,000 as on 1969.)
25,000 x 581 / 100= 1,45,250
According to Inflation Index calculation, your property value amounts to Rs.1,45,250 for this year. Accordingly:
35,00,000 Sale value
01,45,250 Your property purchase amount as per Inflation index.
————-
33,54,750 is the net gain (Long term capital gains)
02,25,000 Less Tax free amount for a person above 65 years
————-
31,29,750 is the net amount on which you have to pay tax @20%
========
Tax Approximately:
6,25,950 tax on Rs.31,29,750 @20%
0,62,595 Add: Surcharge @10% on the above tax .
———–
6,88,545
0,20,565 Add: Education cess on tax @3%
————
7,09,201 Net tax payable by you.
Regarding the actual value and the Govt. value, you have to contact the Sub registrar.
You have to consult a tax consultant. He will still try to reduce the tax. There are so many ways to reduce the tax which cannot be explained in the public form.
Q: Chevrolet : Camaro RS 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS?
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY A 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS WOULD GO FOR $99,000,000.00 ON EBAY?
A: Depends on the Camaro. Who rebuilt it, Chip Foose or Barry White, or if it is a special edition IE. Yenko, COPO, Pace Car. Other factors could be that it is a 100% all original car with matching numbers, low miles and only one owner.
Camaros are becoming more and more rare and have been increasing in value by leaps and bounds. You can barley find a rust bucket that won’t cost you at least $3k and that is without an engine or tranny. If it is a convertible you are looking at $5k+
Q: 1969 Chevy Camaro RS SS? NJ?
I’m looking for a 1969 camaro RS SS not yet restored…in the NJ area

Is Reggie Jackson’s 1969 Camaro a Z-28, SS396, RS, etc. what is it?
A: The website doesn’t really state it, but the grill is of RS origin. And the drivetrain, which they talk forever about is modern.

A: Beautiful car, I would guess between 40-50 grand.
Q: 1969 Camaro RS or Mustang GT?
The Camaro with a Big block 454 and Mustangwith a Small block 302….
A: Is that even a ques.??The 69 Camaro(in my eyes)was the sexiest car ever designed. The 454 big block is a great motor when built properly.I had a 69 z 28 .I had a 454 but bored it over to be a 468 with 411 rear end gears. That girl could bury any ford garbage around here!!
Q: I’m wont to know if there were any 1969 SS/RS camaro that has a Body code build in Ohio and a vin # from Cal.?
A: nope if the body code says ohio and vin says van nuys someone has switched the vin tag more than likely
Q: I’m trying to identify if my 1969 camaro is a Z28, SS, Or RS by checking the VIN number?
VIN number 124379N508413
A: The vin will not tell you that. That vin just tells you its a V8 , 1969 coupe , built in Norwood, Ohio.
The trim tag , rivited just above the brake master cylinder will tell what the model is.
X11 – Style Trim Group (includes SS350)*
X22 – Style Trim Group with SS396 (black rear panel)
X33 – Style Trim Group with Special Performance Equipment (Z28)
X44 – Base car
X55 – Base car with SS350 (rear fender louvers, black body sill**)
X66 – Base car with SS396 (rear fender louvers, black rear panel, black body sill**)
X77 – Base car with Special Performance Equipment(Z28)
Z11 – Indy Pace Car Accents
Z10 – Indy Pace Car Accents – Hardtop
D80 – Air Spoiler Equipment (when used – not all cars built with spoilers were coded)
*There is no specific X-code for the SS350. X11 could mean SS350 with Style Trim or base car with Style Trim.
Style Trim Group (included in Rally Sport option) consisted of fender striping (except when Sport Striping or Z28 is specified), and simulated rear fender louvers, front and rear wheel opening moldings, black body sill,** rear panel emblems, bright headlight and taillight accents. Sport coupe included bright roof drip moldings.
** Except colors 51, 57, 61, and 67.
Note: Camaro SS included rear fender louvers and black body sill.** Black rear panel was included with 396 engine. Z11 and Z10 included orange hood, deck, and fender striping and deleted the black body sill and rear panel with 396 engine.
Q: i have a 1969 camaro x11, how i find out if is an rs or not?
A: The Norwood X-codes can be confusing, especially the X11 code. The X11 code stood for “style trim group”, which could mean anything from the “style trim package” that included nothing more than chrome wheel opening moldings to the Rally Sport option and every trim level in between. The X11 code was also used on the SS350 cars with a trim package, so it could have been originally built as anything from an inline 6 base model with the chrome wheel moldings to a RS/SS 350. There were seperate X-codes for the non-trim packaged SS350’s and all of the SS big blocks, Z/28’s, pace cars, and base models without “style trim group” so at least you can eliminate those.
I’ve seen estimates that it is believed that somewhere around 45% of the X11 code cars included the RS option package, so if it has the RS grill, it’s likely that it was an original RS, but the only definitive way to tell is if you could find the original build sheet. There will be a Z22 RPO code on the build sheet if it was originally equipped with the Rally Sport option. Check behind the rear seat and above the gas tank. Who knows it may still be there.
BTW, there is nothing in the VIN# or even the protect-o-plate that relates to trim options and GM did not keep any records. The build sheet is your only hope.
Q: 10 POINTS I have a 1969 Chevy Camaro project car. But I would like to know wether its is SS, RS, or, z/28. ?

A: YUP THATS A 69…. NOW YOU GET TO RUN THE VIN NUMBERS . SINCE THE RS , SS AND THE OTHER MODELS COULD ALL BE ORDERED WITH DIFERENT ENGINES , TRANSMISSIONS AND TRIM, YOU’LL HAVE TO RUN THE VIN TO BE EXACT ON WHAT THIS ONE CAME WITH . I HAD A 67 WITH 4 SPEED ,327 ANGLE PLUG HEADS AND NO CONSOLE OR DISC BRAKES WITH A FOLD DOWN REAR SEAT !! ALL THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS MAKES IT VERY HARD CAR TO PUT YOUR FINGER ON EXACTLY– UNLESS YOU KNEW THE ORIGINAL OWNER OR RUN THE VIN NUMBERS.. IT COULD HAVE HAD A 6 BANGER WITH GOOD OPTIONS AT ONE TIME TOO.. RUN THE VIN… THEN ITS A SURE THING ! THE FIRST THREE YEARS OF THE CAMARO WERE NOT THE SAME.. 67 HAD WING WINDOWS DIFFERENT LIGHTS FRONT AND REAR, 68 HAD DIFFERENT DOORS GRILLE, LIGHTS FRONT AND REAR AND REVERSE LIGHTS IN THE LOWER VALANCE, AND THE 69 WAS THE FIRST MAJOR CHANGE IN THE CAMARO BODY–(DID YOU FIND THE BUILD SHEET UNDER THE BACK SEAT? SOME TIMES THEY WERE LEFT TUCKED INTO THE SRINGS OF THE LOWER REAR SEATS..). WITH ALL DIFFERENT DOORS,FENDERS , REAR QUARTERS AND SIDE TREATMENT(VENT-LINES) DIFFERENT DASH AND GUAGES STOCK DISC BRAKES AND ON AND ON AND ON . THE 1969 CAMARO WAS A ONE YEAR ONLY CAR PERIOD. AND THE POTENTIAL OPTIONS WERE ENDLESS !! FROM A 230 INCH 6 CYLINDER TO THE 396 AND 427 IF ORDERED RIGHT . THERE WAS EVEN A FEW 4 CYLINDERS MADE !!! THIS WILL BE A MYSTERY TILL YOU RUN THOSE NUMBERS…
Q: Is there any differences, in the body structure, between the models of the 1969 Camaro?
I wanna purchase a ‘69 Camaro, but cannot decide between the SS, or RS, or Z models, really any model. I just know I want a hobby car to rebuild, and need to know the differences between the models, I don’t care if the difference is just in the engine sizes, because I’m most likely going to rebuild a totally different engine for it, from scratch.
A: http://www.camarosource.ca/php/camaro_info_db/index.php?year=1969 This link will help you find the info you need. The only true difference between the models are trim levels.engines, transmissions and suspensions.Best of luck.
Q: How much to restore camaro????? How much for 1998 to 2002?
What did it cost you guys to restore your camaro. 1967-1969(Rs,ss). Also i wanna bye a 1998-2002 camaro. How much was yours and what kinds(ss,RS)
A: it all depends on the condition of the car. if it has rusted panels that need replacing, interior parts, trim, emblems, etc. is there any rust on the car. need more info.
now for the newer camaro your looking to buy will be around 4-7 grand if its a z28. now for an ss its gonna be higher cause the ss ls1s are still pretty high in price.
email me @philliprussell_2002@yahoo for a detailed description of the older camaro
Q: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Project?
I am looking for a ‘69 Camaro L78 or L89 RS/SS project to work on if anyone knows where i could find one it would be greatly appreciated.
I frequently try Ebay or Cars-on-line and hemmings.
A: Good luck.
You’re looking for one of the most Popular, Expensive, and increasingly Rare makes of Camaro and Muscle Car around.
They don’t go on the Chopping Block very often and when they do…. Originals can get VERY expensive.
If you’re looking for a project, it might be easier to just try to find any ‘69 Camaro Body and restore/upgrade it as you desire.
There are a few RS/SS Clones out there. So if you’re looking for an Original make sure to check the VIN.
There’s Craigslist (a long shot), but I think www.Autotrader.com might be your best bet if those other ones aren’t working out for you.
Good luck!
