Q: How can I get the bank to loan on a ‘69 Chevy Camaro?
How can I get the bank to loan on a ‘69 Chevy Camaro, which is full restored to replicate the Z-28? Answers please require other solutions than collateral.

A: This would be considered a classic car and banks are not usually willing to offer loans on these kinds of cars. However, there are specialty lenders who do. Check on the www.hemmings.com web site and see if you can find links or advertisements for such lenders.

Q: How do I replace the rear quarter panels on a ‘69 chevy camaro? How difficult is this? How many hours?

A: Go to this web site.

It’ll give you some idea of the amount of work involved

Once you open that can of worms, where do you stop!

Q: Where can i find a 69 Chevy Camaro?
im looking for a project car so it should be in not that great shape. im not using ebay.

A: You can try edmunds, autotrader, cars.aol, or ebay. But your best best for a classic car like a 69 Camaro is hemmings.com or cars-on-line.com Good luck

Q: My 69 Chevy Camaro sags in the back, how can i raise it?
I want to lift the back alittle (just 3-5 inches) to give it that muscle car stance, I want to lift it enough to see the entire back tires. How should I accomplish this? Thanks

A: Change the tires with a bigger circumference.

Maybe a 26 inch can make it look like a hot rod with some pimpin’ spray and spinner rims, lol, just kiddin’

Q: Which is the safer car: a brand new Mini Cooper or a ‘69 Chevy Camaro?
I’m just curious… which one would come out of a 40 mph side-impact collision better? Obviously, the Mini has airbags and the 1969 Camaro doesn’t, but would good ol’ American Iron compensate? Thanks in advance to all who answer!

A: Although I love old American iron they are death traps when compared to any modern automobile. 1969 was pre-door intrusion beams, metal surfaces mere inches away from passengers heads and legs, sternum crushing steering columns, teeth bashing rock-hard steering wheels, rotten brakes, no head rests, nominal seat belts, etc, etc.
Given all this, I probably would still drive the Camaro vs the Mini. I’m funny that way…

Q: my dream car is ‘69 chevy camaro ss..so i have some questions..?
I’ve been checking online and I seen some dinjy and in need of a paint job and all..and also ones that were completely done up with nice interior and exterior..as well as nice engines. The prices ranged from 10,000 all the way to 1,000,000. I understand the expense since its a classic..being from ‘69. Anyway I want to pick up one..old, dirty..in need of major repair..what do you think will be the average cost of fixing it up with leather interior, a paint job and a nice engine?? Also how much gas does it “guzzle”?? I did read up on the ‘69 chevy camaro ss but I’m looking for all the info I can get. Thx.

A: well.. a 69 is a good choice i however like the 67 and 68 better.. but anyways.. the biggest question is will you have a secondary vehicle.. because it is so much easier to restore a vehicle that isn’t your daily driver.. my 2nd car was a 72 el camino.. i paid $300 for it and got $20,000 when i sold it.. The first thing you will want to do when you buy a classic car is inspect the frame/body.. this is probably the most expensive part of the car.. you could luck out and buy a car from the south where there is little snow meaning less rust.. You could imagine spending between $500 and $10,000 just for body work.. now that isn’t including body panels.. if the body panels are in good shape *no major dents, holes can be repaired easier than big dents* expect $1000 for body panel work.. next would be the engine.. most often your not going to find one with an engine let alone an original engine for anywhere under around 10k so you can expect $2000 for a running engine or more depending on your power needs *but you can always luck out, i picked up a stolen 100% running LS7 motor from a police auction for $3000* then would be your interior work.. look at spending $1000 minimum.. then your paint job and that all depends on you.. but the idea to remember is rushing a restoration job will only make problems.. a restoring a classic is art in progress.. i spent 5 years on my el camino and the only reason i sold it was to get married..

Q: What kind of engine can a Chevy Camaro 69 SS have?
v6 or v8?

A: really it depends on what you want. you could put 427 in it. you could put a v6 or v8. it all depends on what you want for horse power and torque.

Q: 69′ Chevy camaro How much would it sell for…?
With a big block 454 headers a holly 4 barral carb. tuned to the street and all borded out…

A: Probably more than you make in a year.

Q: Carbon Fiber Hoods for 69 Chevy Camaro?
1) Don’t tell me to Google it, I already tried that.
2) If there is such a thing, tell me the company that makes them.

A: Joe Van Overbeek makes a couple different first gen. Camaro hoods. The link below is to his website, but you’ll have to call on that. He primarily build race bodies, but also does bolt-on hoods. He builds parts on a made to order basis, so I hope you are not in a hurry. It could easily take several months, but his parts are almost always perfect. As far as a “Harwood” type company that would have them in stock, as far as I know, they don’t exist.

Q: ‘69 Chevy Camaro help please?
I need a picture a of a dark, metallic like purple “60 Chevy Camaro. Preverably with two black stripes down the middle, if not, that’s okay. Do you know a website I can find one? I’ve tried Bing and Google.
Shoot sorry. I meant to say ‘69

A: I’ve only seen one purple Camaro that old in my life. That was my deceased friends “67″. Some paint shops have access to software that can simulate any car in any color. I don’t know if you’re able, but I can put a photo of a car in my HP photo shop and make it any color I want. Maybe ask your friends if they know someone that familiar with any of the image enhancement programs. If I had a picture of my friends car I could be more help, they are the same body with only a few trim differences.

Q: 69 chevy camaro. is it still an SS?
if i bought a camaro ss body but dropped a different engine and other parts inside it for drag racing would it still be an SS?
i was curious about that so i thought id get other opinions.

A: The VIN number will identify it as an SS made at the factory. A different engine or modifications will not change this fact, but it will affect the value.

If you have the original, numbers matching engine for ths car, put it aside in case you ever want to restore it to original. Any classic muscle car will be worth more if it has the original drivetrain.

Q: I am looking for a 1967-69 chevy camaro?
i have $1,500 and have look all over the internet im turning 16 shortly and am very good with fixing up cars im hoping for a ss or the rs v8 but would also be happy with a v6 needs to have an engine and tranny i live in aiken sc and will pick it up within 100 miles thank you and please dont give rude answers

A: Try Hemmings.com or Craigslist.com…1500.00 won’t get you very much…perhaps a good body that needs the motor and trans and a lot of restoration. Those year Camaro’s did not have a v-6…I think you mean a straight six but those require more work with suspension, brakes and cooling if you want to drop in a strong V-8..
Good luck.

Q: 69′ Chevy Camaro or 65′ Chevy Corvette…?
The 69′ Camaro with a 502 the 65′ Corvette with a 454…

A: I had a 68 Camero convertible … that was sweet. Never had a Vette …and I’d go with the Vette over a ‘69 hard top.
