Q: How many 1965 Corvette Stingrays were Nassau Blue?
The Stingray I’m looking for had a white rag top, blue interior, a 4-speed 396 v-8 big block Turbojet engine, all disk brakes, positraction, transistorised ignition, & was built in St. Louis,Missouri in 1965.

A: I don’t know about with your options, but in general it was the most produced color on a corvette in 1965.

Q: How much is a rebuilt matching numbers Chevy 1965 Corvette 327/375hp motor worth?
A guy is trying to sell me one, just curious how much that engine is worth. I was wanting to throw it in a Chevelle.

A: I wouldn’t pay over $2500 for it and that is only if it hasn’t been used since the rebuild. You can get a brand new 350 from GMPerformance parts for around $1900 and it comes with a warranty.I would go with one of those and throw in a cam and some used performance heads and you could easily make over 400hp for about the same as that 327 is worth.

Q: looking for the best way to remove the battery from 1965 corvette?

A: open the battery compartment, take it out, shut the battery compartment

Q: I have a 1965 corvette, the engine was replaced in 1970. Is there any way to tell if this was originally a big?
sorry big block!

A: A big block? There’s a super small chance of that because the only big block available in ‘65 was the ultra rare 425 horsepower 396. But you should check to see which engine it had originally because it could of had one of the higher output 327’s. Maybe the vin # will tell? I’m not a classic Vette expert so I’m not sure the correct way to tell. Cool car!

Q: How would I go about selling a restored 1965 Corvette?

A: I’ll offer my assistance only for you this one time. Sign and send the title to me with your address, I’ll come pick up the car for you and take care of the whole thing for ya. Or, just use Ebay.

Q: what is the original part number for a 1965 corvette stingray front license plate brackett?

A: one of these will help in your research:

Q: I have a 1965 corvette 396 425 hp engine.I’m running 210 degree F coolant temp. on the highway.Is this high?

A: 210 with an gen I chevy block is pretty reasonable. if it gets up to 220 I would start to have some concerns.

Q: 1965 corvette 327 what side do valve cover clips go on (right or left)?

A: Clips go on the side away from the carburetor. There are bolts on all sides. Maybe some clarification on the ? is in order here.

A: I bought a 1967 Firebird and spent all my high school years, time and money working on it. Then, sold it when I was finished at a huge loss. My advice is sell it on EBAY. Older Corvette’s are hot right now and you should be able to get more money than you paid for it. To fully restore that car, you doing all the work yourself, about $25,000.

Q: hi looking for a knockoff wheel made for corvette 1965 by the Western wheel company that is no longer with us.
can you help me locate at least one wheel 15X6 inch tks Jim

A: Try ebay if you haven’t already. Also, rarewheels.com has several good choices.

Q: How to gauge value of vintage Corvette part?
No ebay or google searches lead to similar part.
1965-1967 original chrome Air cleaner assembly.
Want to sell, but value is unknown.

A: I would go ahead and list it on ebay, if you just want to see what people are willing to pay. Put a high reserve and you will be able to see what people will pay. If you really want to sell it just list it with no reserve and there is a ton of corvette guru’s that will bid and i’m sure it will sell for what it is worth or perhaps even more. Good luck!

Q: 1965 cars.. answers needed?
I need help for a work of fiction.. answers about cars..

Cerca 1965.. what would have been the “status” cars for an extremely wealthy family to have???

The millionaire businessman… maybe a Jaguar? (I’d prefer 4 door car.. something that broadcasts his wealth, right?)

His young (late teens) daughters.. I’m thinking 1965 corvettes.. thoughts? (a teen with plenty of money would prefer some kind of sporty convertible.. right?)

What would have been the “coolest” cars for an extremely wealthy family to have cerca 1965??

A: The status cars would probably have been the Cadillac and the Lincoln Continental.
Corvette is a good guess for the daughters. Maybe the Jaguar XKE or and Austin Healey 3000 also.
Hope this helps.

Q: In the 1965-1972 TV series, Get Smart, What was the car that Smart drives up in at the beginning of the show?
My son and I were looking at the car that Maxwell Smart drives up in at the beginning of the show and was debating on what make car it was. I think it is a Ferrari and he thinks it is a customized Corvette. Does anyone out there have the answer…it is driving us “NUTS”!! Thank you!

A: Get Smart Car – Red Sunbeam Tiger convertible sports car issued to Control agent Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) on the spy comedy GET SMART/NBC/1965-70. The CFB600 model (License Plate No. D6-893) contained a cigarette lighter (that doubled as a grenade); ejector seat (activated by remote control or switch on dashboard); exhaust pipe machine gun, tail pipe oil slick device, two 100-velocity, 50-caliber machine guns concealed in hood, radar scan, radar tracking device to track Control agent cars. (activated by pulling light switch and turning it left); radiator cap filled with poisonous gas; trunk (opened by dialing the plate numbers to CA44N); and smoke screen device. The car cost $32,000. During the second season Maxwell Smart got a blue Karman Ghia convertible. During the fifth season, Max drove a gold 1969 Opel GT sports car. On a few occasions, Max drove a white Mustang convertible. TRIVIA NOTE: In episode No. 114. “Ironhand” (aired 3rd October 1969) while trying to prevent KAOS henchman Ironhand (Paul Richards) from getting “The Anti-Anti-Anti-Missile-Missile” plans, Maxwell Smart accidentally fires a mortar shell and completely destroys his gold Opel. But miracles upon miracles, in the scene shortly after that, Max pulls up to the Washington airport in the same car with no damage what so ever to the car.

Q: Chevrolet brand small block intake manifold question.?
The 1965 Corvette 365 hp 327 engine had a completely different standard Chevy aluminum intake than the 1969 Z28 302 Comaro. Explain why. I realize the carburetors were different as the 327 had a 580 cfm. Holley The 302 had the 780 cfm. Correct me if I’m wrong I think the camshafts had the same specs.

A: This is an easy one. The Corvette didn’t have the space between the hood and the carburetor, that the 302 Z-28 did, so they went with a more high rise type intake to make more torque. The height of the carburetor, the space between the hood, and the style of the air cleaner, all play a major role in how much rise can be on the intake.
The lifts were very similar on these two cam shafts, but where the difference is, is in the duration. They were both solid lifter cams, but by increasing the duration of the lift, they were able to get much more air into the engine, thus more fuel, thus a larger cfm carburetor.
Glad to help you, Good luck!!!

Q: Which would you rather have?
1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, 1978 Camaro Z-28, 1965 Corvette, or 2001 Audi S4.

A: I’m interested to know how you picked those 4 to choose from! The Shelby is worth more than the rest of those combined, so gotta be the Mustang. Now if the Corvette was a 63′ or 67′…nah still the Mustang.
