what would the insurance rate be on a 15 year old male for a 2005 chevrolet corvette coupe? this is the first car for him also.

A: well being as youhave to be 16 to drive it would be impossible. Also if he was 16,male the insurance will be about $300+ a month. NO young kid needs a car like this, he will do something idiotic and hurt himself or someone else.

Q: My 1989 Chevrolet Corvette sometimes has a problem starting, what could this be?
I have a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette with 67,000 miles. It sometimes has an issue starting up. It will turn over and immediately die. It usually takes a few more attempts and it will start up fine. It doesn’t happen all time. I just replaced the fuel injectors and did a tune up on it 6 months ago. I have one theory and it could need a new electric fuel pump. Any other suggestions?

A: Was this problem evident before changing the injectors and tune-up?
It sounds to me like the fuel in the line is returning back into the fuel tank after it is shut off. This will cause the car to start for a few seconds and stall. But, after the pump gets the fuel back through the line its fine.
This should only be a problem if it sets for more than 1 hour.
This will require a little more research on your part to find the valve that shouldnt allow fuel to flow back into the tank.

Q: Why are the Chevrolet Corvette’s not a everyday driving car??
I know few people with a Chevrolet Corvette and they tell me that they don’t drive it all the time.. Why is that?? They cost to much just to let it sit there…

A: Well its a great car ofcoarse.
It has a 6.2L V8 and 430hp..and with upgrades you can get an a 7L engine wich has 530 hp. Its a great fast beautfiul car and can go as fast as ferraris and other luxury racing cars but much more affordable. Even though its a great car its not an everday car because it eats up gas like CRAZY and with gas prices so high your not gonna want to sit in traffic burning fuel and being able to go as fast. For everyday use you need a reliable car with good gas milage and maybe even enviromentaly friendly. Make your corvette a weekend car, maybe for going out or w/e. Enjoy but dont use it as an everydya car. Its waay too good for that.

Will there be a general public version of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray/Centennial Concept used in transformers 2? and if so any idea on price range?

A: No it won’t. The C7 Corvette will arrive in the late 2012 as a 2013 model, it may or may not have lines from the Centennial Concept, but it will integrate some high tech materials witch will make it lighter and will be about 10-15% more expensive then the C6 to avoid a fight with the high end versions of the Camaro.

Still, you can dream at this rendering.

Q: I would like to know if their are any common problems that the c6 Chevrolet Corvette has?

A: I had two 06 C6s. I was disspointed. I didnt like the way the convertible top unlatched on one.. (you had to twist this handle) The nav screen didnt work when cold or would work intermiitently and they could never figure it out. Finally, the nav screen broke and they replaced the unit and it worked great. The hardtop had a harness problem. apparently during assembly someone had routed a wire wrong and so, in about 100 miles it wore throught the insulation and caused a PCM fault. This took 5 trips to the dealer to get fixed. This car aso had other misc probs.
One thing you should know, Corvettes need special care and attention when you change the oil. The jacking points are specific.
The cars were fun.. but I eventually traded them off for a Porsche 911 S Cab.

Im sure its not great on gas, but is it better than a truck that gets 15 mpg?
Early 70’s, big block engine, no modifacations.

A: Depends on year, engine and transmission as well as modifications.

EDIT: In the early 70’s the big block engine option was a 454 which was detuned and had low compression. With a little tuning you should be able to eek out 14 mpg, give or take 1 or 2 mpg on the freeway. City won’t be very good at all, probably around 10 mpg.

-uld people mostly not know the difference if you showed them both cars from a distance. Because to me they look exacly the same exept the ZR1 has a airhole in the front bonnet. What I am asking is could a $45,000 Corvette pass as a $100,000 dollar ZR1 Corvette do most people not know the difference, and is buying the ZR1 a waste of money. Thank you.

A: A regular Vette could pass as a ZR1 to most people, but anyone who knows their cars would spot the differnece right away. The ZRI has overhead cams. It is a peppy motor , but is plagued with many problems. If you are going to spend 100 Grand you can do a lot better than a ZR1. If Chevy is what you are after check out the Z06 Corvette.

A: i own a repair shop,and you need to raise them up,and leave them up,and you should be able to go from behind them,or up through the bottom,and twist the socket out that holds the bulb in,,be care full and don’t touch the new one with your fingers,and replace them,,there not bad to do you just don’t want to get the oil from your skin on the new bulbs,it shortens the life of them,good luck,i hope this help,s.

A: I’m no expert on Canadian prices, but, fortunately, most of the Canadian prices are listed online. Just add 10 or 20% to the few US figures I give.

BMWs start at $33,900 Canadian and Mercedes at just under $30,000 Canadian. Both brands top out at over $150,000 Canadian.

Your basic Corvette is going to run you $65,205 Canadian. Faster versions like the Z06 the ZR1 cost $93,775 and $126,605 Canadian, respectively.

The Boxter is the least expensive Porsche, but even it costs $58,100 Canadian. The classic Porsche, the Carrera, starts at $94,800 Canadian and can cost more than $400,000 US in its rarest form, the Carrera GT, though you hardly ever see them on the road.
