I Would like to know what the bolt pattern and lug size is for a 1963 Chevy Impala.

Q: 1963 chevy impala brake lights won’t stop flashing?
I have a 1963 chevy impala and the brake lights won’t stop flashing when I turn the car on or to start postion. Why does it do this and how can I fix it.

A: Your emergancy flasher is bad. It looks like the turnsigal flasher, and in the same area. Turn car on, (u don’t need to start it ), and look under dash, look for a round cap like shape object…If it clicking with the same tempo as the lights, replace it !

Q: How do i repair the filler neck on my 1963 chevy impala?
my car leaks gas evey time i put fuel in it. sometimes the pressure and the position i have the nozzle makes a difference from a small pouring leak to a huge poring leak.

A: You have a problem that must be addressed now!
If you are not familiar with this type of work, for safety’s sake, let a reputable garage handle it.
Disconnect the car battery(imperative).Siphon the contents of the tank to a safety container.place a floor jack under the tank (put a 12″x 12″ or approx.size piece of plywood between the jack and the tank) raise the jack so it just barely touches the tank then remove the mounting hardware and lower the tank about 3-4″ then disconnect the sending unit wire on top of the tank(power supply for your gas guage).Take the tank to a qualified repair shop as it has to be pressure tested etc before putting it back on….this job can be life-threatening if done improperly,if you’re not sure….take it to a pro.

In a mile drag race?

A: The ‘63 Caddy came stock with a HUGE engine. 390 cubic inches and 325 HP.

The wimpy Chevy might get off the line a little quicker, but the Caddilac will still be accelerating past 120 mph at the end of the mile, while the Chevy would top out at about 95 or 100 mph if it was lucky and well tuned.

Q: Where would the neutral safety switch be on a 1963 chevy impala ss?

A: Auto trans – Base of the steering column.

I probably should have been more specific. There are 4 wires going to the switch. 2 16 ga. purple wires are for the starter circuit. The two 18 ga. wires are for the backup lights.

Manual trans cars only had a switch for the backup lights.

Vehicles with automatic transmissions have had Neutral safety switches since the 50’s. Check out www.NHTSA.gov

Q: paint job for my 1963 chevy impala?
i got a 1963 chevy impala that i wanna paint black but i want it to look shiny where u can see ur own reflection on it. what kind of paint do i buy?

A: As long as the body is prepped and ready to be painted, find a good quality grade paint in black. Then you want to wet sand the black and paint another coat. Once you do this, make sure you add a few layers of good clear coat. the clear coat is what gives you the deep luster you are looking for. Once you clear it, wet sand and wheel the car with a good buffing wax. You can you tube wet sanding and wheeling a car there.

good luck……

Q: 1963 Chevy Impala 283 engine w/powerglide engine swap to a LS1 & 4l60E?
I’ve never driven the 283 w/powerglide so I don’t really know the differance of how the newer engine my perform on the old car comparing it to the 283. If I was to use the 283 & powerglide I would have to rebuilt it since it has been sitting for over ten yrs. Would it just be better to get a LS1 engine swap and drop it in than to rebuild?

A: The 283 wasn’t a power house, and of course the powerglide was a 2 speed transmission so gas mileage wasn’t the best in the old lead sled. So with the engine swap you would gain performance. The old v8/pg combo were virtually bullet proof, with them you won’t have the electrical problems the LS1 will give you. This would be what I would base my decision on, if the car is original I would keep it that way. If it isn’t, then it’s fair game for a little customization.

Q: What is the diffrence between a 1963 Chevy Impala to a 1964 Chevy Impala?

A: 1 Year

Q: 1963 Chevy Impala best fuel efficiency engine setup.?
My 63 4dr Impala currently has a 283 engine and powerglide transmission. The engine and tranny will need to be rebuilt if I use them.
My 63 4dr Impala currently has a 283 engine and powerglide transmission. The engine and tranny will need to be rebuilt if I use them. The car has also been sitting for about ten years inside a garage.

A: I wouldn’t even worry about fuel efficiency in a ‘63 Impala. It’s going to get bad mileage no matter what you do to it unless you drop in a modern powertrain….and even then it won’t get great mileage unless you drop in some wimpy engine and make it dog-slow as a result.

If you’re willing to spend money on fuel effieciency upgrades, I’d say spend that same money on power upgrades instead. I’d guess you’d get at best 12-15mpg by optimizing everything you can in order to get better mileage (and less power). Why not spend the money on more HP and live with the 11-13 mpg you’d get anyway and have something fast and fun as a bonus?

Q: looking for someone who works on ac unit for 1963 chevy impala?
