Q: How much would a 1970 monte carlo cost?
My 12 year old daughter wants a 1970 monte carlo for her first car. Now if i can find one, it needs to be a fixer upper. how much does she need to save to pay for a non-restored 1070 monte carlo????

A: the early Monte Carlos are actually fairly cheap in terms of classic cars, you can get a decent one for about $5,000. my advice would be to wait, she’s only 12 and will probably end up changing her mind.

Q: I have a 1970 Monte Carlo. The gas pedal is stuck. What could be the problem?
I have a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo. The gas pedal is stuck. When every I put the car in drive it runs on its own. When every I put the car in park its like I’m pressing on the gas when I’m not. When I try to put the car in reverse I have to push down hard on the gas pedal for it to back up. What could be the problem if any one can help me with this question I would really appreciate it .

THANK YOU.

A: The high idle cam on the carburetor is not being pulled back by the choke pull-off. Take the car to someone who is familiar with carburetors and let them repair it>

its in excellent condition, brakes are new, fresh interior, new tires, about 51,000 miles, but its in primer, I guess that’s a good thing because the new owner can paint it what ever he/she wants

A: Depends on the options and engine/tranny combo. Basic 350 and Turbo 350 with a few other options 3-4000.00, 402 4 speed 6-8000.00, SS454 8-12000.00. Add a bit more for each option. Come look around and see some other cars for sale with prices asked. http://www.firstgenmc.com/indexgeorge2.shtml

Q: We’re selling our 1970 Monte Carlo. How can we find out the selling price ranges. Car is original.?

A: If the car is truly original,it could bring over $10,000 depending on factory options. One thing you must understand to old American car buyers:Original means ORIGINAL paint, all interior pieces,ALL engine and driveline parts. The ONLY parts that can be replacements on an ORIGINAL car are filters, plugs and brake shoes and pads….that’s it,if ANY other parts have been changed or if the car has had ANY paint or bodywork,it is not original.
