Q: How much should it cost to replace a wheel bearing in a 1995 Monte Carlo?
I am trying to find a shop to replace a wheel bearing in my other car, a 1995 monte carlo, before I sell it. It has front wheel drive, 3.1 Litre engine, ABS, and the wheel bearing that needs to be replaced is the front passenger side wheel bearing. I have called shops, and they have quoted DRASTICALLY different prices (from $190 to $485). I need to just replace the bearing and sell it ASAP, and as you can see, the car is old and not worth much anyhow, so I don’t want to invest much more into it.
Any mechanics out there that can answer this?
Thanks sooo much!
A: You should be able to get the bearing for app. $60.00 at Auto Zone ect. Find a shop that will install it for you. Labor is app 1 hour pluse tax. App price under $200.00
Q: I have a 1995 Monte Carlo. When I start it in the morning it revs up and down to 3 rpms etc.?
I have a 1995 Monte Carlo. When I start it in the morning it revs up and down hard to 3 rpms etc. I also smell a mixture of “rich fuel”. After I drive it after a couple of minutes it runs like a charm for the rest of the day. The next morning it starts all over. Mechanics have looked at it and can’t figure it out.
A: my answer is you need a techron fuel and air cleaner then you check to the auto repair shop…
Q: Where can I get information on changing a heater core in a 1995 Monte Carlo?
We are changing out an old heater core in a 1995 Monte Carlo. Wondering if there is any diagrams we can look at. And if so, could someone connect me to the right diagram for this vehicle.
A: Haynes or Chiltons repair manuals. Get one for your year, make and model vehicle. They are good to have.
Q: I have a question regarding a recent concern with my 1995 Monte Carlo?
I have a 1995 Monte Carlo, and I would like to know that, if at an idle, should both of the coolant fans run in unison, or should they be activated at a separate time, based on the engine temperature?
Thank you for your help,
Dan.
A: Both of the radiator coolant fans switch on simultaneously.
Q: Could you solve this 1995 Monte Carlo puzzling fan auto-activation?
I have a 1995 Monte Carlo, and I would like to know that, if at an idle, should both of the coolant two fans run in unison, or should they be activated at separate time based on the engine temperature?
Thank you for your help,
Dan.
A: I think they run at the same time. I have a Monte Carlo and I’ve never really noticed them running separately. I think they’re on the same fuse too…which would imply they’re one circuit I’d think.
I’m not an expert but that’s just what I’d logically determine. Also a 95 Monte Carlo I think has an electric fan. The alternator makes enough power to run both fans and charge the battery so why would it shut one down? It wouldn’t save any gas and with the engine getting hotter, it could potentially worsen fuel mileage.
Q: 1995 Monte Carlo running on 5 of 6 cylinders?
I recently bought a 1995 Monte Carlo V-6 and when I come to a stop my car begins to shake. I looked under the hood and realized that it would miss on the 5th cylinder. I put new injector fluid in and changed the spark plugs and it seemed to be running a little bit better but it’s still running on only 5 of the 6 cylinders. I also noticed a funny smell. I have checked the vacuum hose with starting fluid for leaks but did not find any. Does anyone have any idea what else it could be?
A: You should also have a light on dashboard telling you to check engine. If not you may have something else wrong. But by the syptoms I believe the coil pack has gone out. The coil pack for a good replacement is not too expensive. It would probably be wise to have it taken in and properly diagnosed. As It could also be a bad cam sensor or even, I hate to say it, a bad computer not sending signal to fire on that coil.
Q: My 1995 Monte Carlo Floats all over the road.?
I have a 1995 Monte Carlo. My boyfriend just fixed the fuel pump on it but he is only home from the army for a month so I don’t want him to spend his entire R&R working on my car. When I try to drive my Monte Carlo it feels like it is floating all over the road, it wont stay going straight. Also the steering wheel isn’t straight up and down its tilted towards the drivers door and if I try to turn it right then I am making a right turn.
A: take it to a mechanic and get it fixed if you don`t want your boyfriend to fix it for you.
Q: 1995 Monte Carlo, engine cranks, but wont start, its been sitting for 4 years, but started occassionally.?
I have a 1995 Monte Carlo, that was sitting for about 4 years, I started it sometimes, now it wont start, just cranks. Could it be the fuel pump is out?
A: more likey bad gas and fuel filter… gas will only last a few months then it goes bad… gets thick and stops everything up cars that sit a long time.. is a good bet.. drain the gas tank put in fresh gas add some fuel treatment… check the pump pull off the fuel line and give it a crank….if it sprays its good
Q: How do you change thermostat 1995 monte carlo?
i googled it and it told me to first remove the air filter and housing.
Second, remove throttle body assembly.
Third, remove metal tube leading to thermostat.
i tried this but i can seem to get the throttle body off. anyone have
any suggestions? i don’t want to take it to a mechanic. its a 3.4 v6.
thanks
A: Once you have the throttle body unbolted and the linkage unhooked.
You can either smach it with a soft rubber mallet, or your hand.
There is a rubber seal and it is just melted into place – it will need to be replaced also.
Then you can get to the tube, and the problem wont be so bad

Q: Is a 1995 Monte Carlo Z34 a front or rear wheel drive car?
I’m looking into buying one, but am debating because where I live sees it’s fair share of snowfall during the winter. I have looked around, but everyone seems to argue on whether it is front or rear wheel drive and whether or not it is safe for winter driving in snow. I anyone here knows for sure and can give an accurate answer to those questions, please do. Thank you in advance.
A: It’s front-wheel-drive. My first car was a 1995 Monte Carlo LS… a little bit down on power, but still a heavy V-6 upfront and front-wheel-drive. Especially if you have the ABS, it’s an absolute dream on the snow. You won’t even notice you’re driving in snow most times, it really honestly is that good in the snow. It’s perfectly safe for snow.
