Q: Why did they stop producing the Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
I heard they stopped producing the chevrolet monte carlo last year. I have a 2003 Monte Carlo LS. Does anyone know why they stopped production? Was it poor sales?

A: 95 was the first year for the 3.1 m motor. old ones used a 3.1 t motor. all gm w body cars use the same engine

A: It will handle and drive just like your cavalier. Just a little bigger, so it will have a better ride quality, and more comfortable to drive because it’s a better car and has more room for the occupants.

A: The variance is typically 18-22% on factory tint glass.

They both run the same engine. But will the bolt configuration on the supercharger fit the manifold bolt hole configuration on the Monte Carlo SS? How much Horsepower can the engine of the Monte Carlo SS handle I don’t want to overshoot my limits? Will the transmission in the Monte Carlo SS also be able to handle the added horsepower?
A: Yes it will bolt right up. The problem you will have is with your tranny. the 4t65e tranny is a pretty weak transmission. The supercharged cars have the 4t65ehd transmission. It has stronger clutchpacks, and a different planetary set. It is set up to handel around 320hp. The GTP’s and Supercharged Monte Carlo SS have the same 3800 Series 2 engine. The same engine you have, but with a supercharger. The internals are also the same. So you will have no diffuculties bolting it up. They make numerous performance upgrades for that engine. But remember, before you upgrade your hp and torque, rebuild that tranny!! It will leave you stranded on the side of the road if you don’t!!

A lamp on the climate control section went out. Is there a relatively painless way to replace a bulb here?
It’s not in the cluster, it’s in the area where the heater/AC controls are on the very bottom.
A: You don’t, you have to get someone who knows how to take it apart, as this assembly is all in one piece, you might find a used one at the salvage yard, but remember to ask about the mileage as this this all built in,and when you change the Cluster you change the mileage.
Q: Disable Auto Door Lock On 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
I have a 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS and it has a feature that when you start the car and step on the brake for the first time the doors auto lock and unlock when the car is shut off. Is there a way to disable the auto door feature. I have check the owers manual with no luck. Any ideas?

If I had the funds….I would modify the 6th Generation (2000-2007) Monte Carlo as this: Hardtop Convertible and Scissor or Butterfly Doors and of Course Rims, Tint, and Paint are a given.
Who would even be able to make this reality….saw a show called Unique Whips….Maybe that guy @ Unique Motorsports?
A: i would want to see a convertable with scassor doors it would be interesting and its not really normal so not many people would have them

A: First you have to remove door panel and you will see three nuts that hold it on. Remove these and unplug electrical connector and remove mirror.
Q: How do I replace the water pump on my 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: Depends on what engine you have. If it is a 3.1 or 3.4, the water pump is located on the upper edge of the engine on the passenger side. You will need to drain some of the coolant, remove the serpentine belt, remove 4 bolts from water pump pulley, remove pulley. Remove 5 bolts holding pump to block. Clean with a scrapper. Install new pump with new gasket. There is a certain way the pump goes in so pay attention or the bolt holes will not line up. Install the 5 bolts and tighten down EVENLY. Once tight, install pulley and its 4 bolts. Install serpentine belt and top off coolant. You will have to bleed the air from the cooling system by opening the little bleeder on the thermostat housing (unless there is a tube running from the thermostat housing to the coolant bottle) and the one just above the water pump. Failure to remove the air will cause an overheating condition.
If it is a 2.3 or a 2.4, I would recommend taking this to a repair shop as these are a pain to do and require the removal of the timing chain as well as many other parts.

A: well someone just told you that they have inline 6 engines, but they dont. They are V-6 engines. (3.1-3.4-3.8-3.8supercharged) ALL V6. anyways, my dad owns a 1998 montecarlo ss with the 3.8, it has 230,000 miles on it and its still doing great. As stated before it all depends on how well you maintain it. Also before buying it, check the transmission fluid and make sure its still pink, and does not smell burnt. If its black don’t buy the car.
