Q: What is the value of a 1968 dodge charger shell?
Old car, rare car…. Doesn’t have a motor So whats the value of this 1968 dodge charger shell?

A: if its all there around 3000 bucks or more, probably around 3-5 grand depending on what all parts are their and what all is missing from it,if it has a clear title to it, it will sell, and it can be brought back to life with enough money patience and time, good luck.

Q: Is it impossible to find a good deal on a 1968-72 Charger that is in good shape?
I’m looking for a good muscle car that I don’t have to spend a lot on and that will be dependable. I’m not set on the Charger, but I like that look a lot. Seems like anything that is restored is running over $20k. Any insight into this? Or any other suggestions on a similar car? Thanks!
I’ve already checked ebay…. Starting to think I need to look at a different model since these are so hot right now.

A: find one that needs just a paint job or something simple try ebay or other online sites

Q: where can I find assembly instructions for a 1968 Dodge Charger?
I need instrutions on the basic assembly of a 68′ Charger, even online downloads of model instructions will work. Also been looking for parts for the car, I have nothing, all answers appreciated.

A: Scale model instructions will not help you. Consult a local auto body repair shop or surf eBay for a hard copy or a CD ROM. Just type in the car info and search what they have. Hemmings Motor News is also a good source. They also have a web site to search print ads. You can subscribe to he print copy. Try also Year One Inc, in Georgia. They too have a web site. Try to search for Mopar Restoration business on the web.

Q: I have a 1968 Dodge Charger with power windows. Where can can i find parts to make my windows work like new?
Id like to find updated window motors and parts to fix the window mechanisms. They roll up and down really slow and weak. The plastic rollers sometimes seem to fall out of track. Someone help me. I still have scars on my hands from high school from workin on these things,,and im 25 now.

A: this is the best place to find parts for that car at,they have a really good selection of parts,i built two chargers from this site, good luck.http://www.yearone.com/

Q: how much would a 1968 dodge charger be worth with NO INSIDES just the wheels?
PLEASE answer! I was looking around on the web and I saw this old charger and I might be interested in it.It is a HUGE JOB but I would like a estimate on how much it is worth.
originally a v8 car, 4speed, body is complete, body needs work, floor pans, etc. no motor, no transmission

A: It depends on the over all condition of the car,….AND,….now this is a BIG one,……..What did the car originally come equipped with?………is it a Hemi car? was it a 4 speed? The price could range from 2-3 grand up to $20,000.00 bucks. It all depends……..does the body still have it’s “original” ID tag on the fire wall,….is the VIN plate in tact?……does it have a title? Research the VIN number and the ID tag,……….these will tell you everything about the car when it was new such as the motor tranny combo, what options it had, etc. etc.,………GOOD LUCK,…..but make an informed purchase. If you don’t know what you’re doing,…..sellers will try to convince you that it is a 1 of 1 hemi car thats worth a million bucks,……..do your homework!

Yeah, I would like to know the horsepower, weight, mpg, and any other detail you can provide… I would also like to know some good websites where I can buy good condition or new 440’s… Thank you!
Do you know any websites with any pre-built engines? Thank you Dodge Man… I appreciate your help.

A: their is no certain amount of horse power for those engines they made them that had as much as 375 all the way up to 400 and more.if you want a new one or rebuilt go to this site and see what they offer, they got them in many different styles, you got to pay for what horse power you want these days, check this site out,it should answer some of your questions on it,good luck,http://www.440source.com/

Q: i want to buy a 1968 doge charger its perfect but the engine is missing i want to rebuild it how much will it?
cost?

A: if your going to restore this vehicle plan on spending about 20 grand on it at least, for the engine and transmission and redoing the rest of the car,if its only an engine it needs,a good 5 grand will put you in to a good running engine and transmission for it,and buy all the small things you,ll probably need for installing it,you made a good find on that one ,but check it out real good,if an engine was all it needed why didn’t the owner fix it and sell it for more money, good luck.

Q: who would win in a race 1970 chevrolet chevelle 454 or a 1968 dodge charger 426 hemi ?
both stock no mods.
in a drag race

A: The Chevelle would be seing the tail lights of the charger. Charger for the win.

Q: Why does the 1968 Charger RT have a return fuel vapor line?

A: vapor lock. This was done on just about all big block high output motors. the amount of heat in the engine compartment at Idle on a day above 90 degrees would cause the engine to vapor lock and die at stop lights–even had the fuel boiling in the carb bowls and overflowing into the manifold when the engine was turned off. I have this on my 68 firebird, 68 Camaro, 67 GTO, and a host of other cars. Made the mistake of removing them when I put a electric fuel pump on— learned two lessons, one still needed it–and always own a car that you can push out of the intersection by yourself.

Q: where can i buy a fiberglass six pack style hood for my 1968 dodge charger?
websites? suppliers?

A: Call Westoaks Chrysler Dodge in Thousand Oaks Calif at 805.371.4900. They are the number one Mopar performance parts dealer in the world. Ask to speak with Troy. He’ll know where to get what you want as well as may have other options.

Q: will an edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold fit in a 1968 dodge charger without modifying the hood?

A: I have a 360 in a 73 plymouth duster with the rpm intake, Holley 670CFM (not double pumper) and a 3″ air cleaner on top of the engine, and It only has about an inch or two clearance below the stock hood. But you can easily fit it with something like this, I don’t know about the flow rating though. performanceparts.com/part.php?partID=53391

Q: Where exactly do the side markers go on a 1968 Charger?
A few weeks ago I asked about the side markers on a 1968 Dodge Charger, the ones on my car where welded, I know where to cut the holes on three of the fenders, but I’m having a problem with the front left fender since it’s from a 69-70 Charger. I know how big to cut it, what I want to know is where exactly is it suppose to go. Does anybody know the exact measurements? Like, how far away from the fender does it go or how high. I’ve checked google and Allpar but I can’t find anything.

A: Make a pattern of the right front fender using flexible wrapping paper, tape at the hood edge of the fender (top) and again at the front edge of the fender, mark side light position. Transfer your pattern to the left fender and mark side light position. The front of the pattern on the right fender will become the back side when moved to the left fender.

Ideally using enough paper to cover the entire fender from front, hood edge to door edge at rear of fender would give you a very good idea where the light is located. After marking new light position use tape measure to verify the position.
