Q: How do I remove a stereo from a 1996 Ford Bronco?
I just bought an awesome 1996 Ford Bronco from a private seller. He installed an aftermarket stereo in the bronco but lost the face plate. I need to remove the stereo that’s in there and put in a different one. I cannot figure out how to take the stereo out of the dash. Do I need to remove the dash? There are no screws showing on the stereo or around it. Thanks for your help!

A: you need a fine edged tool to pop the casing loose, then you simply disconnect the wiring by pulling it loose from the connectors or clipping them. When you install the new one you will need to buy connectors.

Q: What is the average gas mileage for a 1996 Ford Bronco?
I am just wondering what the average gas mileage is for a 1996 Ford Bronco. If you could help.
For real, I am looking for a true awnser.

A: I have a 1995 Bronco with the 351W. When it was stock. It got about 11-12 MPG around town. On the highway it got 14-15 MPG. Mine has a 4 inch suspension lift, 33 inch tires and 4.56 gears now. It gets around 9-12 MPG now. This isn’t a vehicle you get if you care about fuel mileage.

Q: How much money is a 1996 Ford Bronco worth?
I want to sell my 1996 Ford Bronco. But i don’t not how much money to sell it for.

Q: Is it possible to put a power stroke engine in a 1996 Bronco?
Any idea of the cost to have it done?

A: You can however it would be a huge project.

The best way to do this would be to find a totaled F350 with a good engine and transmission. You would need to transfer the complete engine, transmission, under hood wiring harness, computer, fuel system including fuel tank and lines, radiator, etc.

You will also need to beef up the front suspension and springs as the power-stroke weighs much more than the gasoline engine you are replacing.

Seeing you had to ask this question in the first place tells me that you most likely do not have the mechanical skills or the resources to take on a project like this by yourself. You will need to pay a professional to do the work for you.

I would estimate a minimum of $10,000 for the donor truck and miscellaneous parts.

I would estimate a minimum of 200 hours labor. Figuring $100 labor you will pay about $20,000 labor.

I would think you could pull this off for around $30,000 give or take a little.

Apparently the other person answering this question does not understand that Power-Stroke is the brand name for the Ford Super Duty Diesel truck engine.

Q: added a 4inch lift to 1996 bronco whant more lift has enybody ever used daystar coil spacers ,did they work?
have a 4inch rancho lift should i just swap coils and blocks, kit is still new

A: You could use the daystars and a rear add-a-leaf, this would give you about 51/2″ and be MUCH easier than a body lift. Make sure that your shocks have the extra length in them.

Q: Conversion from gas to powerstroke on a 1996 Ford Bronco?
Has anybody seen one or heard of this type of a conversion. Also the Bronco is a 4X4 and I would want to make it a 2X4. So it would be a complete conversion. Maybe even a six speed conversion.

A: you would be better off buying a new ar rather than going through all of this trouble. if you have a lot of money to do this then go ahead.

Q: how do you remove the old hinges and bushings from a 1996 ford bronco door?
I have been trying to remove my old door hinges from by bronco because of the fact that my door will no longer close anymore do to the door hangs to low so it does not close. I have tried every thing there is to bang them out how is this done any help would be greatly appreciated

A: If you are trying to remove the hinges you need to remove the nuts from the bolts that are inside the cab underneath the dash board. There should be an access hole to get to the bolts. If you are removing the bushings try to heat the hinges up with a torch and then drive out the bushings either with a steel dowel or bolt just smaller than the hole If you still can’t get the bushings out just get new hinges at a ford dealership.

Q: Check Engine light is on in my 1996 Ford Bronco but runs fine. What could the problem be?
It has been on for a month or so, and I have not had a problem. It is a 1996 Ford Bronco XLT with about 152000 miles on it.
i have heard from a friend that this could actually be a gascap that isnt sealed properly. is that true?

A: If you have a check engine light on, it means one of the systems the computer controlls and/or monitors is not working properly. Lots of people will tell you that if the car runs fine, there is nothing wrong, or to replace the O2 sensor (the oxygen sensor). They don’t know what they are talking about. Something IS wrong, and although it may be a minor problem, it is in your best interest to find out what it is. Go to your local parts store, and they will read the code for free. If it’s something minor, like a loose gas cap, great. Tighten it up and drive with peace of mind. If it’s something serious, you’ll be glad you were able to address it before you incurred costly repairs or possibly, endangered your safety.

A: start with headers and the intake, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator gives you power too.

Q: What colors where offered on the 1996 Ford Bronco XLT?

Q: where can i find the ECM on my 1996 ford bronco XLT?
i need to find this out because my transmission’s timing is off. and i heard from some people who build their broncos up that it is because of the ECM. i cant seem to find it, i know what it looks like but i don’t know where it is. please help, it is important because its messing up my transmission.

A: Behind the kick panel on drivers side under steering wheel.

Q: is the top removable on a 1996 ford bronco?
i am looking to buy a ‘96 bronco, and i was wondering if the top was still removable that year.
thanks

A: yes but it takes a tamper proof torx socket on some of the bolts

Q: Can the top come off a 1996 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer edition?

A: It can, but you’ll have to deal with rear seat belts and rear brake light that’s built into it. If you do take it off, make sure you store on a level surface, it you lean up against something to store it, it’ll warp slightly and squeak alot when you put it back on.

Q: Can I install a 3rd row seat in a 1996 (fullsize) Ford Bronco?
I am interested in purchasing a Ford Bronco. Is there room and is it’s possible to install a 3rd row seat for extra passengers? If so, where do I go to have it properly installed?

A: you need a custom shop for that job, you can pick out a seat that has seat belts already attatched. It may be expensive. Here in CT we have a place called custom coach and they would be able to do it- ya gotta look for a place…. Good Luck!
