Q: Which ECU comes standard in the 2000 Honda Civic Si?
I swapped a 2000 civic SI engine in my 95 shell. I want to get my ecu chipped, but everyone tell me to buy a P28.

1. If the 2000 Si comes with the P28 then i wont have to search for one
2. Is there a major difference on what ECU i use when i get it chipped and tuned.

Q: Rough Idle and flashing check engine light on a 2000 Honda Civic Si, what could be the problem?
I have a 2000 honda civic si and this morning driving to work it was fine, on my way back on the highway from work the car when idle will shake roughly and my exhaust does not sound the same almost sounds like a motorcycle exhaust. The check engine light is also flashing which makes me believe it could be a misfire in a cylinder, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A: Flashing Check Engine light means only one thing, your car had experienced a Misfire in one of the Cylinders. You need to bring the vehicle to a shop and get your codes read and it will tell you which cylinder misfired and they can diagnose the problem for you. This could be to bad plug wires, bad plug if the car hasnt had a tune up in a long while.
Even if the problem is intermittent the code will be stored in the history so it will show when the shop runs the codes.

Q: is this a good supercharger kit good for my 2000 Honda civic Si ?
i have honda and what to get a kit for it but i dont know what is the best kit for my honda. also i want max horse power and torque but a lil under $5500

Q: When i go to the honda dealership, do i just ask for the light/lamp cover for my 2000 honda civic si?

I just bought a 2000 honda civic si. This is going to sound really stupid but….how in the world do you turn on the little yellow lights underneath the headlights. I hope I am describing this well enough. P.S. I do not have the owner’s manual…so don’t tell me to look there…lol. Thanks.

A: I’m going to assume when you say “yellow lights” that you’re speaking of the fog lights that are attached to the bumper.

To turn these on, you would need the “fog light” switch/button. The button is usually located on the left hand side panel. However, if they were not factory installed, they could be located near the E-brake or somewhere else inside the vehicle. If you do not find it, look under your bumper to see if there is a harness that is connected to the lights. If you can not find that button then you’ll likely need one if the harness exists. If the harness does not exist, you’ll need both.

It’ll only then turn on if the button and the light switch is on.

I have a civic 2000 si and when i bought it from the guy he said the back wheel shakes when i brake and he said it could be a ball joint so i would like to know how much is it for a ball joint for one wheel and how much would it cost for a mechanic to do it?

A: The answer your looking for is yes. You can purchase a double din kit right from metra its the 99-7801. No cutting needed its the same dash style as my 99 civic and fits nice. Hope this helps

A: yes 96-98 civic can switch out for the 99-00 civic si style tail lights just make sure you get them from a 2 door. 4 door tails wont fit the coupe.

What type of fuel do you put in your honda civic SI 2000. I just bought one and honda says to put in premium in and thats what I’ve been doing for the first month of owning it, however could i put unleaded in without hurting it. also do I lose power if I use a lesser fuel.

A: Premium for true optimum performance from your VTEC motor. But if you don’t have enough money for premium then regular won’t hurt either.

A: Depending on where you live and depending on the shop you take it to, for instance if you took it to a mom and pop garage probably 400-500 bucks, dealership is probably gonna charge between 700 and a grand. In my opinion find a reputable local shop with positive feedback and talk to them. Haggle the price a little, usually they’ll work with you.

What Exhaust and Intake Should I get?

A: AEM intake are normally good for Honda’s and hks exhaust are perfect but as far as exhaust goes anything stainless steel, with a high flow cat-back exhaust would do the trick.
